Find your Flow

Where Are You Being Redirected?

back to blog home

Today’s Find Your Flow message is about letting go of the idea that what you currently see is the full picture.

I just went through a big redirection that isn’t completely over or clear yet. What initially felt like a failure and a huge falling apart, quickly shifted because of the questions I began asking myself, and the space I gave my mind and body to be present.

So often we become deeply attached to a certain outcome, timeline, person, opportunity, or vision because we’ve convinced ourselves that it has to happen in some exact way in order for things to work out.

We mistake our current perspective for the whole truth.

But what if there are possibilities, protections, redirections and opportunities that you simply cannot fully see yet?

If you’ve been following my journey around finding a home, things took a very unexpected turn over the last few weeks. I found myself moving between certainty and doubt, attachment and confusion, excitement and hesitation. A part of me was holding on tightly, while another part quietly knew there was still something unresolved beneath it all.

And even though I couldn’t fully explain it at the time, I kept feeling that maybe this situation was not as complete or as final as I originally thought.

When things ultimately shifted and fell apart, I initially experienced disappointment and grief. I could feel myself wanting to force understanding onto the situation. I wanted clarity right away. I wanted to know why. I wanted to know what was next. I felt a lack of possibility and clinging onto the idea this was my only option.

Once we start thinking that way—it’s a clear sign to ask some new questions and enter a new state of being.

I started asking myself questions:

  • What if this is serving me in ways I cannot see yet?
  • What if there is wisdom in this pause?
  • What if I’m willing to see the equal relief and grief? How can I lean into the relief?
  • What is this giving me an opportunity to prioritize?
  • What if letting go creates space for something more aligned?
  • How can I make what I currently have work even better for me during this transition?

Almost immediately, solutions, support, ideas, and people began showing up in ways that felt far more easeful than the energy I had been living in.

I truly believe that everyone participates in the field exactly as they are meant to, and that outcomes unfold through a much bigger intelligence than our limited perspective can always understand in the moment.

Sometimes what feels like rejection is actually protection and redirection. I know that’s been true in multiple ways across my life.

I took a few days away with my daughter and my dog and went to the beach. I mostly turned my phone off. I stopped trying to constantly solve, search, analyze and figure everything out. I let myself reconnect to nature, to my body, to presence, and honestly, to a version of myself I had not felt in a while. I felt relaxed and free.

I realized how depleted I had actually been for a few weeks.

I realized how much pressure I had unconsciously been putting on myself to constantly produce, figure things out, stay on top of everything and keep moving forward at any cost.

Even with these Find Your Flow messages, I noticed the internal pull of “I need to do this” rather than “I’d love to share this.” That was a clear sign for me to take a break and recharge until I just spontaneously started writing again. Today’s message just spilled out of me effortlessly a few nights ago.

I focus on catching myself when I’m forcing or disconnected so that I can create from alignment, fullness, insights and genuine connection.

So for the last two weeks, I gave myself permission to be quieter.

I focused on taking care of my body and being present with my daughter. I focused on slow mornings and going for walks.

I focused on allowing space instead of immediately filling it.

And interestingly, that space created clarity.

Today I went to see a rental property that I was genuinely excited about. Within minutes, it became a very clear no. And surprisingly, instead of spiraling into disappointment, I felt grateful for the clarity.

Because clarity is movement.

I felt guilty for a moment like I wasted my broker and friend’s time.

How often do you hold other people’s time and energy so close to your heart? Sometimes even without knowing how they truly feel.

She simply said: “I just see this as research.” What a great perspective to have.

Sometimes we hear, feel or download little cues, subtle whispers guiding us on our path.

“Not this.” “Don’t rush.”  “It’s ok not to know yet—that is clarity, too.”

Maybe the original house comes back around and maybe it doesn’t.

I feel more clear either way it goes now. I can finally see that there will be other opportunities, other homes, other experiences and other possibilities. And, other ways this in between time really serves us.

Maybe something even better exists outside the limits of what I had convinced myself was the only path forward.

If something in your life is not fully coming together right now maybe instead of moving into frustration, blame, fear, disconnection or control…what if you simply paused long enough to ask yourself some questions.

  • Where in your life are you gripping tightly to one specific outcome?
  • What perception are you attached to?
  • What are you struggling to let go of?
  • Can you become curious instead of reactive?
  • What story have you decided is the only way things can work out?
  • Can you trust that clarity can come through stillness just as much as action?
  • Can you allow uncertainty without immediately making it mean failure or a problem?

Maybe this season is not asking you to push harder—it’s asking you to soften and listen.

Remember to trust that what is truly meant for you will not require you to abandon yourself in order to receive it.

There is so much wisdom in allowing life to unfold one aligned and in flow step at a time.

Rather than a delay being a punishment or failure—my invitation to you today is to invite preparation, pauses and “failures” with even more gratitude, love and wisdom.

I’d love to hear from you too. What are you going through? How did this resonate for you?

With love,

Laurin
