Today’s Find Your Flow message is about giving yourself space to settle after a period of doing, planning and holding everything together.
Maybe you’ve been moving through a big transition, preparing for an event, meeting a deadline or tending to people who need a lot from you. You get used to the pace. There’s always another decision to make, something to organize or a reason to keep going.
And then something finishes or slows down, and you finally have a little room. But you may notice that you don’t immediately know how to be in that space. You’re still looking for what needs your attention, thinking about what’s next or feeling an urgency to use the time well.
You may also begin to feel things you didn’t have room to notice while you were busy. Tiredness. Relief. Joy. Sadness. A desire to be alone or to feel more connected. Sometimes you’ve been so focused on what needs to happen that you haven’t paused to ask what you need.
With so much happening in my own life recently, I’ve been thinking about how intentionally I want to move through this part, too. I want to give myself time to enjoy what I’ve created, feel what’s been moving through me and notice what would feel nourishing now.
It’s easy to finish one thing and immediately give your energy to the next. But if you fill every opening, when do you get to hear what your body is asking for? When do you get to appreciate the experience or recognize what you’d like to do differently moving forward?
Take a moment to ask yourself:
– What have I been carrying, and what can I put down now?
– How am I actually feeling now that there’s room to notice?
– Am I ready for what’s next, or am I uncomfortable letting there be space?
– What would help me feel rested, nourished or connected this weekend?
You may need more sleep, a walk without your phone, time with someone you love or an afternoon without a plan.

You may want to enjoy something you worked hard to create without continuing to improve it.
Before you fill the next opening in your calendar, pause long enough to listen. Choose one thing that responds to what you actually need, and give it some space in your weekend.
You’ve given so much attention to what needed to get done. Allow some of that attention to come back to you.
With love,
Laurin
