Today’s Find Your Flow message is about momentum and preparing yourself for change.
Change often happens slowly as you build your capacity and readiness long before you actually take action.
It may seem as though something happens very quickly, but often there’s a process of preparation.
Here a few questions to see if you’re looking for some external change?:
- Are you aware of something that isn’t quite working in your life the way that it was?
- Is there something that has started to feel stagnant?
- Is there an environment where you tend to shrink or tighten more than ground and expand?
- Are you feeling called to make a shift or up-level?
- Is there some new momentum you’re wanting to create?
For me, I’ve felt called for a shift in my environment many times over the 14 years I’ve lived where I am. I’ve bought other homes, moved for months at a time, and yet I still haven’t been quite ready to leave completely. I’ve been deep into a home search these last few months and I finally found something that I felt called to put an offer on.
There’s something grounding about choosing to stay and honoring when it’s not quite time to move yet. And, there’s something so inspiring and spacious about taking those steps in a specific direction when you do feel clear.
This process has had me thinking about our process of exploration and what preparing yourself looks like.
I realize some people thought I was wasting so much time on my home search. It definitely looked very scattered at times, but for me, I kept following my flow and only said yes when it felt aligned.
Aligned doesn’t always mean easy, it just means it feels intentional and purposeful, it comes together and your energy is present.
It’s important to use your energy wisely, while also investing your time and energy in exploration. I looked at an open-ended search that had no pressure as a luxury. An investment in my clarity and learning even more about what I actually want in this next season—and that takes time.
There were so many homes that were so close, but I just still knew something wasn’t coming together completely. Each step however was preparing me.
This is true for any area of life that’s most resonant with you at this time. Whether it’s a new home, a relationship, business or your personal growth.
There are seasons of growth and preparation, full expansion, managing what is or moving through the tunnel as you pull yourself out of the darkness again. This is a cyclical flow and one that is to be expected. The more clear you are about what season you’re in the easier it is to navigate.
As you’re preparing it’s important not to move from urgency, desperation or pressure. But rather move with curiosity, openness, clarity and possibility. This is a part of investing in yourself, not just reaching an outcome.
And, in that exploration you may surprise yourself as well. It’s interesting that this is the home I said yes to because it wasn’t what my mind wanted, what I thought I’d find…but it was the one where I felt relaxed and spacious. Where I had time to take on projects at my own pace. It actually reflected what I had been saying I wanted–even in the places I wasn’t fully listening to myself yet.
Whether it’s this home or something else, it created a new momentum and energy. And, with that I can feel and see places where I was even more stagnant than I realized.
What gets your creative energy flowing again?
What helps you feel aligned, grounded and connected?
Notice the places where you have allowing versus attachment. Feel available for a possibility without feeling pressure or rushed.
In the past, I’ve made myself fit into what works, this time, I’m clear on my needs and desires and what’s worth saying yes to.
There were other homes that I felt excited about at first, and then two hours later, that feeling was gone and doubt crept in.
This was different.
I didn’t walk out thinking I would make an offer. I just liked the home and loved the location. I felt settled speaking to the owner and moved on with my day.
It wasn’t until I was driving crossing back into the part of town that usually feels like home, that something clicked.
For the first time, I noticed…I didn’t feel that pull to be back.
And that awareness was everything. It showed me I was ready.
You don’t have to wait until you’re miserable where you are or until you’re pressured to make a change to be ready for what’s next. You CAN move with purpose rather than pain.
It’s sometimes a little more challenging to make a shift when you’re so comfortable, but with shifts come a new energy, growth and expansion.
Notice where you may have a quiet preparation building.
You can feel content…and still know it’s not your forever.
You can love where you’ve been—and still feel yourself expanding beyond it.

Momentum isn’t about forcing. It’s about listening, preparing, and then trusting yourself when the moment arrives.
It’s about taking steps before you feel 100% ready—because those steps are what create your readiness.
Look for the places where you don’t feel the need to overanalyze. You don’t feel the need to keep checking or asking for permission or opinions. Look for where you can see yourself stepping forward.
Trust yourself, you cannot miss what is meant for you.
And when something feels right, even quietly or unexpectedly, allow yourself to lean in.
With love,
Laurin
