Guided Meditation: A Return To Yourself

Today is your invitation to come back to yourself. 

If you’re in the United States, you may have celebrated thanksgiving yesterday and you may need a reset to remember who you are. 

Who you are as a spiritual being before you get caught up in feeling the need to identify as something specific. 

You’ll find some questions below and a 20 minute guided meditation to help you get centered in your body and spirit.

While holidays can be an opportunity to slow down, reflect and fill up with appreciation and gratitude– they can also come with some unwanted baggage, judgment and too much food and stimulation. This is why it’s so helpful to build a consistent practice so regardless of what happens around you—you can find your center. 

As you build your capacity to hold space for your flow and your path, one of the keys to being authentically you is Dedicated Time for Awareness. 

Understanding your patterns. What you feel in your body. Where you shut down. Where you hold onto tension, frozen/stuck energy. Where you’re most connected. What stories you’re holding onto. Where you resonate with other people’s energies…these are all worth exploring so you can be the most free, authentic, inspired and present version of you. 

There are 5 aspects of awareness: mental, physical, emotional, energetic and soulful. Understanding and mastering your presence and dedication to each of these is your greatest gift. 

The Energetic Aspect of Awareness is all aboutknowing what’s yours and what you match on as an opportunity for growth and reflection rather than holding onto fear, anger and judgments. 

Take a moment today to ask yourself:

  • How consistently do you practice awareness with yourself? in your body? In your actions? 
  • Do you set intentions before gathering with others? 
  • Do you feel others energy, fears, judgments with you even after you separate physically? 
  • Do you have an energetic separation practice after being with others? 
  • How quickly do you return to yourself? 
  • Is this a return to your present, neutral, soft, connected and poised self? 
  • Do you feel edgy, overwhelmed, disconnected or frustrated? 
  • What emotions or energies are still in your body from yesterday?
  • What can I return to sender that’s no longer mine to keep?
