Can you believe it’s the final weekend before the holidays.
This year both Hanukkah and Christmas fall on the same day which personally I’m really looking forward to.
However, this gave me an opportunity to really think about what I wanted this holiday week to look like. I started choosing this about 2 months ago and setting myself up to be in a space of ease by planning ahead and doing tasks over an extended period of time.
I’ve been speaking with people having all different experiences this holiday season, whether it’s about what they want to change in the new year, feeling overwhelmed with work to be able to take time off or rushing to put the “perfect” party or gifts together.
One thing that helps us be in our flow is choice. Choosing an intention and then using the resources to deepen your fulfillment, to help you hold space, move through something challenging, uplevel your presence and communication or look ahead to create and magnetize what you desire.
I’m always reminded, the more structure we set up to win, the more choice and ease we have.
There’s a saying in coaching “How you do anything is how you do everything.”
I find this time of year can be a huge sprint feeling like you have to fit everything in. Fit in that last bit of work, rush to consume and maybe some perfect pictures are lighting up for you about how to create something magical.
The question is, do you get so caught in the doing, you miss the magic of creating?
Are you rushing to what’s next rather than seeing the gift in your present moment?
Are you choosing intentional activities to bond or just spending time with family?
What gets lit up for you?
I invite you to take a breath and reflect: how have you been showing up these last two weeks?
Is this how you’d like to continue for the final two weeks of the year?
If not, let’s go a little deeper.
- Take a few deep breaths to connect to your body.
- Remember a time this week when you felt rushed or challenged.
- See, what was going on for you? What were you believing? What have you been scared of? (you may not use that word, but the fears and pictures of how you think things ‘should be’ are underlying your actions. The more awareness you bring, the less grip they have.) What’s been feeling impossible or like too much effort?
- Remind yourself, this is just one part of you. We all have the same core fears with different surface challenges.
- What would you love? Who would you love to spend time with? Is there anything you can delegate, schedule and accomplish or complete with even more intention and ease?
- Take another deep breath and find flow in your body. Breathe into that and allow it to expand throughout your body. Softening around any tension and remind yourself: you always have choice.
- Imagine your highest golden light entering through your aura into your crown and filling up every cell in your body with your knowing, yourself as spirit.
- Go to your heart and fill up with what you are grateful for in your present moment. And from this place, what would you love again. What needs to happen to create this?
There’s an opportunity to bring even more mindfulness and intentionality to how you move through tension, feeling overwhelmed, thoughts you’re having, patterns around consumption and so much more.
I’m looking forward to creating new traditions with my daughter this year, slowing down with family and some time creating, journaling and most of all focusing on my being to allow space for what may unfold this next year and beyond.
We’re always planting seeds with who we are being.
May you feel the love, creation, magic and support all around you this holiday season.
Much love and happy holidays,
Laurin
