Find your Flow

Need an upgrade…start here

back to blog home

Today’s find your flow message is about refinement. Refining your environment and habits and releasing what’s no longer serving you so you can show up even more fully as your true self.

This also means reflecting on where you may go unconscious, where you say yes when you’d really prefer to say no, and where you forget to love and trust yourself. The more time you dedicate to build your awareness, the stronger your sense of self and self-worth. While it’s not always easy…it is ALWAYS worth it.

You will never regret showing up for yourself or choosing to say yes to what will support your expansion. This can happen in both big and small ways. Sometimes we choose to shift many things at once, and sometimes we take small steps to open up space emotionally, energetically and/or physically so that larger shifts can take place.

There’s an old coaching question that can be so helpful in facilitating where it may be time to make some changes.

Every few months I really sit with this question and journal about each area of my life and where I can choose something new or what could be helpful to let go of.

The question is:

What are you tolerating that’s no longer serving you?

First, I invite you to journal and capture anything that comes up from you. Big, small and everywhere in between.

Second, ask yourself:

  • What else are you tolerating that you may not even be aware of?
  • What’s draining any extra energy unnecessarily?
  • What no longer feels good in your physical space?
  • In your emotional and subtle body?
  • In your relationships?
  • Where you spend money?
  • Clothes you wear?
  • Spaces you use every day?
  • Cluttered spaces you’ve meaning to get to?

Does your office or closet need a clean out? Do you have old habits that just aren’t providing the same ease, alignment and inspiration they used to?

Where can you lean into change that will help you move forward?

I was surprised by the first answer that came up when I asked myself this question a few weeks ago but it actually started shifting way more than you may think.

It was do a major edit of my home environment and get rid of anything that no longer feels like me or what I want moving forward. Each evening I picked an area to clear. I’ve never had such an easy time letting go of old items and organizing.

I also didn’t realize how much I was tolerating. Specifically, an old mattress that was affecting the very little sleep I do get. I decided to go mattress shopping and it opened up way more energy than I expected. I was a little nervous about making this seemingly small and needed shift but my old mattress was so comfortable for 10 years and what if the new one wasn’t. And, I had to let go of the old to let in the new.

Even though you can make changes and get a free trial you can’t fully go back. While that’s the point and you get to become even more of your true self each time you choose to upgrade, expanding your comfort zone can be challenging.

Such a great metaphor for shifting something in our lives as well.

Eventually, how you feel about making a change far exceeds the cost of staying comfortable.

(And, remember—you actually aren’t even comfortable!).

While I may not sink into my mattress in quite the same way, I feel so much lighter in my body. I wake up without back pain. I wake up ready to move my body and feel so much more clear-minded having edited through so much of my stuff. I finally sorted through all my daughter’s newborn stuff and realized we are entering an entirely new chapter that deserves an environmental match so we can thrive and expand.

So many ideas have been coming to me and my inspiration has tripled.

I feel more nourished in my space and more presence and trust in myself for saying yes to letting go of what’s outdated or no longer a match.

Remember, it’s ok that sometimes we have to move through fears, doubts and insecurities in order to let go.

Where is it time to let go and move into who you are now and who you are becoming?

I had a lot of emotion getting rid of the mattress where I slept with my daughter her first night and almost every night for two years. And, I realized this is a step whether I move soon or not towards more of what I want to manifest. Also, nothing about our relationship changes because we have a new bed. If you have any interesting thoughts show up, allow them space to be present and ask, “is it really true …?”

Where do you desire an upgrade?

What’s within your control to change?

I can’t wait to hear from you what you become aware of and shift.

With love,

Laurin
