Today’s find your flow message is something I’m in the middle of working on and reminding myself of daily.
I had a coaching call yesterday with my coach and he reminded me to have discipline. I knew some of my habits were off but for some reason when he said this I really felt it in an all-encompassing way.
I hope it may be helpful to you as well.
Discipline IS required to go
where you want to go.
I don’t mean just having discipline and powering through something you don’t want to do, or those times when you force habits.
I’m talking about the discipline to hold your energetic space. To notice when you get overwhelmed. To notice when you merge with other people’s energies. To choose what serves you best and then congruently link your actions so you’re called to move.

This requires being willing and setting aside the time to be curious when you’re struggling or disconnected.
Sometimes it’s easy to wait until it feels like everything comes together, but in that waiting are you falling further away from what you want? I know for me the answer was yes so I’m reminding myself of the importance of discipline.
Discipline shows up in many ways. Notice for yourself:
- How do you speak to yourself?
- What do you believe you “should” do versus trusting your knowing and timing?
- How often do you settle for instant gratification vs. build your routines that create long-term fulfillment and vitality?
- Do you catch yourself when you’re reacting and look deeper or just avoid it or let it slide?
- Are your habits something that builds your self-worth and inspiration?
- Do you find yourself gaining or draining energy throughout your day?
Discipline means having and creating your practice so that you can be present with yourself, trust yourself and your visions.
Something my coach said I really resonated with was “stabilize around your center point–when you’re there you have a clear timeline.” This isn’t the timeline from shoulds or your sympathetic nervous system.
This is the discipline I need to commit to.
It’s true my head and my knowing are very different. My head wants to rush and thinks it needs to for my survival. My knowing is calm and patient and trusts my timing while I take committed and inspired action.
Allow your higher self to show you the way through.
I hope this helps you reflect today and this weekend.
Love,
Laurin
