As we move fully into the summer season it’s a great time build some awareness and intention about how you reset and how you take time off.
Maybe you have some vacations coming up, maybe you’ll just have a little bit of quiet time you can find for yourself, maybe you’ll have a house full of kids and feel like you’re full on without a moment…regardless of what’s going on around you…you set the vibration for you to be in your flow.
While vacation and relaxation are wonderful, what I find even more fulfilling is intentional time to find and be in my flow.
This happens in the midst of being busy, during quieter seasons and how and where to choose time away.
I always backtrack how I want to feel, the vibration I want to be in and that helps guide me to say yes to that hike, to choose a more nurturing space where I have access to nature, to take time to slow down, to schedule calls intentionally…you can still fit a lot in and do it very spaciously.
I used to think planning was annoying and a lack of freedom. The truth is the better I’ve gotten at planning and choosing, the easier life is. I fit so much more in without even noticing because there’s space for it all. Especially the meaningful stuff and the rest I feel so much better about letting go of.
Think of a crowded hall closet with so much stuff thrown in. It just feels chaotic. You may not even want to open it and go out in the cold without the proper coat just to avoid the mess.

I know once I invested in a closet system and made little shelves along the side so every item had a home, I edited what was there and created a way to maximize the space, almost the same amount of stuff felt easy.
At this point it’s almost like a formula regardless of where I am that works for me every time.
My goal is to settle my nervous system, to move by body and build strength, to embrace the quiet gentle moments in nature, to slow down and fully lean into presence in any walk or interaction.
In just a day or two I feel more alive, more present, stronger, more confident and certain. I’m more willing to take on inspiring challenges and new endeavors. Through this intentional experience my creative energy is activated even more fully. My knowing gets even louder. Questions I’ve wanted answers to become even clearer.
Sometimes without the pause and new way of being even subtle whispers I hear I doubt or let pass me by. I think ‘oh, maybe, but maybe I can make x happen instead’ (because my rational mind may like that better.) That creates more confusion and disconnection.
It can be much more challenging to lean into your flow as effortlessly without discipline and intention.
Discipline in your mind, body and spirit are critical. Intention in how you show up and what you say yes to.
A new environment can be helpful but that’s not the magic formula…YOU are.
This is the benefit of choosing you and your energetic well-being before saying yes to everyone else, doing something that doesn’t feel good, saying yes when you don’t mean it or just escaping on vacation.
Remember, staying overly busy doesn’t help you reset to the same degree as intentional experiences and movement.
I love setting myself up to support my health and wellbeing from many angles so time is invested into being in my flow and purpose rather than spent as an escape or instant gratification. No one wants to come home from time off feeling like they need time off. There’s nothing better than feeling so fulfilled and filling up with expansive and meaningful endeavors while on vacation and coming home clear and on purpose.
