Intentionally Choosing. What does that mean to you?
When you hear about intentionally choosing/creating your reality, what do you think of?
What is currently working and validating your life experience?
What areas in your life do feel are being chosen for you, if any?
Do you consciously create your reality consistently?
Do you choose how you show up each day? Do you course correct quickly when needed?
Whether it’s as simple as a small interaction, going to the grocery store, having a life-altering opportunity or time with a loved one…it’s helpful to take inventory of what is and isn’t serving you. What does and doesn’t feel good. What’s purposeful and meaningful and what lowers your energy.
Personally, I like to sit mindfully and remember I have choice, and can be intentional as often as I’d like. (I remind myself and catch myself multiple times every day…especially if I feel triggered, reactive, sensitive, overwhelmed or fearful.)
I could teach an entire course on this and how we actually implement this in our day-to-day lives but today is about however this messages resonates most with you. Trust that’s exactly what you need to hear today.
I invite you to reflect:
- What does being intentional mean to you?
- How often do you perceive yourself as able to choose your reality?
- How do you actively participate in your day, interactions and experiences? Do you feel grateful, inspired and purposeful or burnt out and run down?
- If you could wave a magic wand and create something different, what would you do? What would you change?
- Now, what would it take for you to start making those changes today?
In different areas of your life and at different times–different strategies work.
Whether that’s a word, an idea, a way of being, focusing on what you can control in your itinerary on a trip, intentionally curating how you interact with technology, redefining your schedule…maybe how you show up with your family, kids, relationship, for your health, your finances, with team members…. it all starts with an intention, followed by commitment and new actions.
For me on vacation last week, my intention was a clear word that came through. RECHARGE. I thought of this word with each activity I engaged in.
And, even though I ran into a handful of challenges I was able to find moments to recharge that added even more ease and meaning to what otherwise may have been a complete week of distress and disappointment. This is why CHOICE is so critical.
Last trip it was about my creative energy in my work. I had so many ideas that finally came together during that trip. I intentionally moved my body, went for walks, spent time in the ocean, played with my daughter with that in the back of my mind. I often asked myself: “what would support my creative clarity and expression and getting into my flow right now.”
For you, what do you need today?
What could benefit you in this season of your life?
Love to hear.
Here’s to an intentional and meaningful day and weekend.
