Do you fall into perfectionist tendencies?
Do you ever feel so busy or overwhelmed you just keep plowing through your day without taking time to be truly present?
Also known as:
- Want to control an outcome
- Stress about the future and what could happen
- Want things to be a certain way before you move forward
- Have trouble staying consistent
- Have trouble receiving
- Stay rigid so you don’t miss anything, but actually miss so much of what matters to you
- Stay busy but miss connected moments
I know I have to catch myself at times and there are a few reminders that help me when I notice any of the above.
8 Tips to Remember Who You Are and Experience Presence and Progress:
- Take a deep breath. Remember everything starts with a breath and a step. It’s ok to start really small
- Momentum brings more ease, consistency and more momentum
- Hard on yourself? Remember ‘I am enough just as I am’. Connect to your heart and choose a small step you would love to take in the direction you’re heading
- Being comfortable IS NOT fulfillment
- Nothing meaningful is gained through instant gratification
- Remember saying yes to yourself and taking that step is easier than you may think in a hard moment. Sure, you may not be at the ultimate goal today, but progress equals fulfillment
- Imagine what’s possible for you when you let go of perfection
- Finding yourself, purpose or deep contentment doesn’t come from anything external…it comes from a vibration of who you are. You can choose this as a state of being in any moment. The more moments you choose, the more it becomes a consistent way of being.
Do you know striving for perfection actually limits your progress, presence and fulfillment?
Perfection is an impossible standard so it really consciously and unconsciously gives you permission to stay where you are even though it’s not what you want. It really is quite a low bar so you have permission to play small and stay disconnected choosing comfort and pleasure over what you’d really love to create and have.

I invite you to breathe deeply, sit with yourself and use these reminders and any others that work for you when you’re feeling heavy, stuck or attached to an outcome.
Trust yourself. You CAN do this.
This is your sign to find your flow and say yes to any small action that would be meaningful and fulfilling for you.
Thanks for sharing what you’re going through with me.
